This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.
• Take responsibility for streaming data issues from the initial investigation to resolution.
• Examine incorrect catalogs, feeds, data anomalies, failed processes, and other issues related to streaming.
• Determine root causes by analyzing data, system behavior, logs, feeds, and technical workflows.
• Utilize Python for investigating, validating, manipulating, or troubleshooting data and technical processes.
• Resolve issues independently when possible or escalate them to Development or other technical teams with a thorough diagnosis and supporting information.
• Work with structured data, APIs, logs, feeds, internal systems, and various technical sources.
• Employ AI tools and effective prompting to enhance analysis, investigation, troubleshooting, and productivity.
• Clearly communicate technical findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Directly engage with clients regarding streaming data issues, investigations, and resolutions.
• Collaborate with Development, Operations, and Streaming teams to enhance workflows and prevent recurring issues.
• Manage multiple investigations and priorities while adhering to deadlines and SLA requirements.
• Document findings, solutions, and recurring problems to bolster team knowledge and processes.
• Continuously expand understanding of Simply.TV’s streaming products, data architecture, and technical workflows.
• Reports to the Head of Streaming.
• Full-time contractor position; 40 hours per week.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Data Analytics, Software Engineering, IT, or a related technical field.
• Strong practical skills in Python and confidence in using it for data analysis, investigation, automation, or troubleshooting.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a talent for investigating issues and identifying root causes.
• Good understanding of data structures, technical systems, and the movement of data between various systems or processes.
• Experience in effectively utilizing AI tools, including strong prompting skills for research, analysis, troubleshooting, or productivity.
• Capability to work independently on technical problems and take ownership from investigation to resolution.
• Proficiency in comprehending technical information and conveying findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Confidence in communicating directly with clients.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple investigations or priorities at the same time.
• High attention to detail and a strong commitment to data accuracy.
• Proactive, inquisitive, and comfortable with exploring unfamiliar technical challenges.
• Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment where priorities may shift.
• Previous experience in data analytics, data operations, technical support, technical operations, QA, or a similar analytical role is a plus.
• Familiarity with working with APIs, JSON/XML, databases, SQL, logs, scripting, or data pipelines is an advantage.
• Experience with streaming technologies, OTT platforms, broadcasting, media technology, metadata, or digital content is desirable.
• Prior experience handling client-facing technical issues is beneficial.
• Experience using Python for automation or developing small internal tools is advantageous.
• Familiarity with debugging technical workflows and identifying issues across multiple systems is a plus.
• Previous experience in an international or cross-functional setting is a plus.
• Prior experience in television or streaming is helpful but not a requirement.
• Compensation: $2,000–$3,000 USD per month, based on experience and technical proficiency, within a full-time contractor framework.
