Strategic Sourcing Buyer Intern

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Acquire foundational knowledge of purchasing within a Federal Government sanctioned Purchasing System.

• Participate in meetings with stakeholders to pinpoint supply chain sources.

• Join discussions with key stakeholders to explore supply chain sources for diversifying the supplier portfolio.

• Collaborate with the team to create an implementation plan for presentation to Senior Management.

• Carry out the implementation plan to the extent possible within the summer timeline.

• Provide follow-up recommendations for achieving long-term sourcing success.

• Network throughout the Strategic Sourcing organization and gain exposure to training and practical examples of supply chain operations at Leidos.

• Acquire hands-on experience by placing orders and contributing as part of the buying team.

• Assess training and experience gained during the program and suggest improvements for sourcing and cost reduction in the supply chain.

⛳️ Requirements

• Pursuing a college degree related to supply chain, sourcing, analytics, logistics, or another relevant field.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

• Capable of working effectively in a team environment.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Must be a US Citizen.

• Preference for candidates with data analysis or supply chain validation skills.
