This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Maintain an extensive and up-to-date understanding of the designated segment, encompassing customer workflows, purchasing behavior, regulatory and compliance standards, competitive landscape, and technology adoption trends.
• Implement a structured voice-of-customer initiative that includes current users, competitive users, and potential customers.
• Establish and nurture relationships with key opinion leaders, industry associations, regulatory agencies, and academic collaborators.
• Conduct comprehensive competitive intelligence assessments and convert findings into actionable competitive response strategies.
• Own, revise, and sustain the Market Requirements Document for the segment across relevant PerkinElmer product lines.
• Deliver MRD findings and suggestions to VP Product Line teams, VP Marketing, and the Senior Director.
• Ensure that MRD contributions are integrated into at least one VP Product Line roadmap planning cycle each year.
• Formulate the go-to-market strategy for the segment, including target customer profiles, channel priorities, campaign themes, value proposition hierarchy, and commercial messaging.
• Create competitive battlecards, segment application guides, customer workflow maps, and sales playbooks.
• Collaborate with Portfolio Marketing to evaluate segment-specific campaign content.
• Propel annual growth planning for the assigned segment.
• Develop thought leadership materials such as white papers, application note series themes, scientific conference presentations, and regulatory commentary.
• Represent PerkinElmer at conferences, trade exhibitions, and customer advisory events.
• Contribute to customer advisory board programming by designing agendas, facilitating discussions, and converting feedback into commercial and product management actions.
• Meet success metrics, including annual MRD completion and adoption, conducting at least 25 documented in-depth customer conversations annually, contributing to segment growth, enabling asset utilization, and achieving a competitive win rate.
• Over 8 years of experience in product management, segment marketing, market intelligence, or applications science within analytical instrumentation, life sciences tools, or a closely related scientific or industrial technology field.
• Profound domain knowledge in the assigned segment, enabling credible engagement with customer scientists, interpretation of regulatory requirements, and identification of commercially significant technical advancements independently.
• Proven experience in executing structured VOC programs and translating customer insights into rigorous, commercially viable product strategy inputs.
• Experience in creating strategic documents—Market Requirements Documents, market assessments, or competitive analyses—utilized to influence product investment decisions.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of producing and delivering high-caliber presentations for both technical and commercial audiences.
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Engineering, or a related scientific field.
• Preferred: Advanced degree (MSc, PhD) that provides peer-level scientific credibility with customers and product line PM teams.
• Preferred: Experience in the designated segment as a researcher, analytical chemist, regulatory specialist, or applications expert.
• Preferred: A proven history of external scientific engagement, including publications, conference presentations, or participation in regulatory bodies.
• Preferred: Experience in establishing competitive intelligence systems or structured VOC programs where none existed previously.
