Strategic Initiatives Senior Manager, VA Experience Required

📋 Description

• Contribute to the vital mission of the Department of Veterans Affairs

• Offer customer service and technical expertise to the VA

• Ensure outstanding customer satisfaction and employee engagement

• Foster business growth in partnership with Business Area, Sector, and Division resources

• Provide strategic support, leadership, and value in pursuing new technology opportunities for the VA

• Identify, develop, and prioritize opportunities related to VA Benefits systems

• Ensure that proposals and program deliverables are in line with agency priorities and GDIT processes

• Build and maintain relationships with VA customers, partners, IT management, staff, and industry stakeholders

• Ensure alignment with the strategies and objectives of the Business Area, Sector, Division, and company

• Set the strategic direction for the VA business while aligning with overarching organizational strategies

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, business, science, or a related field

• 15+ years of experience in leading enterprise-level technology programs or portfolios of similar or greater scale to the VA

• Strong understanding of the VA’s healthcare and benefits mission, organizational dynamics, operational environment, and technology challenges

• Proven ability to grow GDIT’s business at the VA by identifying emerging mission needs, shaping unique technology solutions/strategies, and leveraging trusted relationships

• Experience in coordinating, managing, and supervising VA Account operations and strategy

• Proven ability to engage effectively with executive and senior leadership, including customer and board-level briefings

• Experience thriving in a highly collaborative, fast-paced, and growth-oriented environment

• Experience motivating teams over extended periods and in challenging situations

• NACI (T1) public trust requirement

• Preferred: Master’s degree

• Preferred: 15+ years of experience supporting VA technology outcomes

• Preferred: Established relationships with current VA leaders and decision makers

• Preferred: Experience in developing budgets

• Desired: 10+ years of experience supporting large federal government contracts or benefits systems

• Comprehensive knowledge of relevant corporate and government regulations and standards

• Ability to travel up to 25% for customer and senior leadership meetings
