Strategic Communications and Campaigns Associate

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Italy.

📋 Description

• Develop and implement strategic communication campaigns focused on climate, energy, and nature issues.

• Craft and disseminate press releases, social media content, quotes, and digital materials designed for optimal organic reach.

• Oversee digital campaigns and execute real-time communication strategies during significant events.

• Cultivate and sustain relationships with Italian journalists, digital media platforms, online influencers, and content creators.

• Propose timely, targeted narratives that promote climate action.

• Engage with political leaders, NGOs, academic institutions, civil society organizations, and business sectors within Italy.

• Offer strategic communication guidance aligned with campaign objectives.

• Assist in expanding the spokesperson network and enhancing public profiles.

• Monitor the Italian political and media landscapes to spot strategic engagement opportunities.

• Deliver actionable insights to colleagues and partners.

• Carry out additional communication tasks and strategic initiatives as required.

• Report directly to the Italy Desk - Lead.

• Contribute to campaigns that align with both Italian and broader European strategies.

• Maintain and grow partner networks to enhance political and media focus on key issues.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven history of creating and pitching engaging stories that effectively resonate with Italian audiences.

• In-depth understanding of climate communications, with the ability to guide partners in effective messaging and outreach strategies.

• Demonstrated experience in leading impactful climate campaigns.

• Established background in a digital media campaigning role, capable of analyzing digital metrics and assessing performance.

• Proactive self-starter with the ability to forge and maintain strong partnerships across the climate sector, capable of working independently to develop relationships and manage projects.

• Proficient in transforming campaign concepts into executed communication outputs in collaboration with diverse teams, experts, and external partners.

• Strong media-tracking capabilities to oversee political discussions, manage time efficiently, and swiftly leverage breaking news and emerging trends.

• Proven experience in converting ideas into campaigns and communication outputs while managing their execution, collaborating with various colleagues and experts.

• Resident of Italy.

• Native-level proficiency in Italian.

• Fluency in both written and spoken English.

• Genuine interest in and passion for combating climate change.

• Versatile skills to excel in a dynamic, expansive work environment, collaborating across time zones using tools such as Slack and Google Workspace.

• Commitment to an inclusive and empowering approach to addressing climate change.

• Proficiency in additional languages is an advantage.
