International Development Program Communications Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Create one-page summaries, infographics, synthesis products, narratives/vignettes, social media content, and blog articles

• Edit reports for clarity and accuracy

• Convey findings to audiences without technical backgrounds

• Integrate evidence and present findings in an accessible manner

• Prepare edited deliverables that comply with Section 508 standards

• Oversee the creation of requested language versions

• Collaborate with the Data Analyst and Lead Evaluator to manage PII/non-PII report versions

• Generate around six to eight synthesis/visualization products each year

• Assist with DOL ILAB Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning (MEL), and Data Services

• Assess programs, evaluate impact, and transform labor data into comprehensible insights

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in research communications

• Strong editorial and copy-editing abilities

• Background in visual storytelling

• Experience producing accessible publications

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, design, or a related discipline is preferred

• Proficiency in plain-language writing and editing

• Skills in visualization and accessibility remediation

• Experience in evidence synthesis

• Coordination of multilingual publications

• Attention to detail, clarity, audience awareness, discretion, and adherence to source evidence

• Capability to prepare Section 508-compliant deliverables

• Ability to coordinate versions of PII/non-PII reports

• Proficiency in English for work and job-site communication
