This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Collaborate closely with a designated business leader to investigate priority inquiries, prepare for meetings, document actions, and ensure follow-through on workstreams.
• Keep records updated, including trackers, briefing notes, decision logs, contact research, and tools for portfolio management.
• Synthesize information from operations, risk management, commercial sectors, and internal stakeholders into actionable outputs.
• Work in conjunction with in-country or functional colleagues on specified projects.
• Perform open-source research on countries, clients, sectors, competitors, partners, regulations, political situations, and operational environments.
• Evaluate the quality of sources, differentiate confirmed facts from unverified information, and document sources accordingly.
• Create executive summaries, briefing notes, slide presentations, issue papers, and concise outlooks.
• Recognize emerging trends, patterns, risks, and opportunities that may impact portfolios or client programs.
• Aid in monitoring country and operational activities, tracking incidents, keeping tabs on emerging risks, mapping, and preparing regular risk or management reports.
• Analyze public procurement documentation, client specifications, market trends, and information related to competitors or partners.
• Provide research contributions, compliance notes, content on capabilities, and other inputs for proposals, presentations, and discussions with clients.
• Ensure accuracy, version control, and the appropriate management of commercially sensitive or operational data.
• Assist with approved AI initiatives concerning research synthesis, reporting, knowledge management, tender analysis, and process enhancement.
• Identify repetitive tasks suitable for automation; test prototypes, document procedures, and assess practical value.
• Validate outputs generated by AI through human review, source verification, and quality assurance.
• Organize structured information using Microsoft Excel, SharePoint, Power BI, mapping platforms, or other sanctioned systems.
• Engage in regular one-on-one meetings and complete specified work deliverables.
• Participate in an end-of-semester performance evaluation or university review if required.
• Currently enrolled undergraduate student in good academic standing for the Fall 2026 semester.
• Strong enthusiasm for international business, government services, security, geopolitical issues, risk management, operations, data analysis, or applied AI.
• Availability to commit 10-20 hours per week and manage tasks responsibly alongside academic commitments.
• Excellent research, critical thinking, and written communication capabilities.
• Ability to present impactful information effectively and write concisely in U.S. English.
• Exceptional attention to detail, sound judgment, intellectual curiosity, and a proactive approach to clarifying requirements or sources when needed.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and capable of quickly learning new analytical, collaborative, or data tools.
• Professional demeanor, discretion, and the ability to manage confidential or commercially sensitive information on a need-to-know basis.
• Must meet work authorization and employment criteria relevant to the final work location and employing entity.
• Required to use authorized systems and adhere to company policies on confidentiality, information security, data protection, AI utilization, and professional conduct.
