This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Become a part of Ashland's North America Life Sciences division as a Strategic Account Manager.
• Report directly to the General Manager of North America Life Sciences.
• Foster strategic customer relationships while formulating long-term growth strategies.
• Act as a reliable advisor to pioneering life sciences firms.
• Utilize CRM systems, account management tools, commercial analytics, and market insights to pinpoint growth opportunities and create strategic customer plans.
• Collaborate with Commercial, R&D, Supply Chain, Operations, Regulatory, and Marketing teams to address customer challenges and spur growth.
• Question the status quo, create new opportunities, and contribute to shaping the future of the business.
• Travel up to 50% to customer locations, industry events, and Ashland sites across North America.
• Support organizational objectives by taking initiative, achieving goals, and maintaining a focus on performance and safety.
• Enhance organizational capacity and capabilities through collaborative partnerships, talent optimization, effective communication, and influence.
• A Bachelor's degree in Business, Life Sciences, Engineering, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related discipline, or a comparable mix of education and relevant industry experience.
• Over 7 years of experience in the pharmaceutical, excipient, biotech, CDMO, or broader life sciences sector.
• Proven history of commercial success.
• More than 3 years of experience in managing strategic accounts, key customer relationships, business development initiatives, or commercial growth strategies.
• Strong business acumen along with excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Capability to influence senior decision-makers, navigate complex organizations, and drive profitable growth.
• Possession of a valid driver's license.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% across North America.
• Consistent demonstration of responsible and ethical behavior.
• Ability to comprehend the business, make intricate decisions, and innovate.
• Familiarity with pharmaceutical and excipient markets, formulation technologies, manufacturing processes, supply chain dynamics, and emerging industry trends.
• Practical experience with CRM systems, account planning tools, commercial analytics, and market intelligence.
• An advanced degree, such as an MBA, M.S., or Ph.D., is preferred.
• Experience with injectable drug products and parenteral formulations is preferred.
• Experience within a global, matrixed organization is preferred.
