Storm Damage Assessor – Seasonal

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Supervise a two-member team including an Operations Driver/Wire Down Guard.

• Monitor distribution lines and equipment impacted by hurricanes, ice, wind, or other factors.

• Ensure that crews are equipped with the necessary materials for restoration activities.

• Implement appropriate safety regulations for electrical distribution.

• Recognize primary and secondary electrical facilities along with damaged equipment.

• Determine all necessary repairs for restoration.

• Prepare detailed damage reports tailored to client specifications.

• Conduct precise field assessments that accurately reflect existing conditions.

• Document data according to established standards for subsequent office analysis.

• Collaborate with the team to guarantee consistent and accurate data collection.

• Utilize smartphones and tablets for data gathering and documentation.

• Employ GPS software and geospatial coordinates for navigation across territories and client locations.

• Identify field documentation needs with minimal supervision.

• Achieve production targets, project milestones, and deliverables.

• Adhere to safety protocols and engage in safety initiatives.

• Contribute to power restoration efforts during natural calamities.

• Be prepared for occasional overnight travel and extended on-site hours when deployed.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 10+ years of lineman experience is essential for inspections.

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.

• Strong attention to detail and capability to conduct visual assessments.

• Proficiency in using smartphones and tablets for data entry and communication purposes.

• Ability to operate independently with minimal supervision.

• Willingness to travel widely to various work locations, sometimes on short notice.

• Readiness to work outdoors in diverse weather conditions and terrains.

• Availability for periodic overnight travel.

• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

• Strong navigation skills and the ability to interpret maps.

• Proficient in basic computer software, including Microsoft Office Suite.

• Maintain a clean and professional appearance.

• Effective time management skills.

• Capability to meet pre-employment background check and drug screening requirements.

• A solid understanding of distribution pole equipment is an advantage.

• Physical capability to traverse power line rights-of-way in varying weather and terrain conditions.

• Close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus are required.
