This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +2 more states.
• Act as the primary technical advisor for storage solutions and Solutions Architect for designated Federal accounts.
• Gain a deep understanding of customer mission objectives, technical landscapes, acquisition strategies, security needs, and modernization projects.
• Design and advocate for HPE solutions encompassing block, file, object, data protection, disaster recovery, cyber resilience, virtualization, private and hybrid cloud, AI workloads, automation, and AIOps.
• Lead technical sales initiatives from initial discovery and architecture design to sizing, validation, proof of concept, competitive analysis, proposal development, and technical closure.
• Shape Federal requirements, architectures, specifications, and acquisition strategies prior to formal solicitations.
• Establish technical relationships with customer architects, engineers, program teams, procurement stakeholders, and technical executives.
• Collaborate with Federal Systems Integrators, prime contractors, OEM partners, and channel partners on joint solutions and strategic pursuits.
• Convert mission, workload, security, availability, performance, scalability, and resilience requirements into HPE storage architectures.
• Drive competitive strategies against rivals such as Dell Technologies, Pure Storage, NetApp, IBM, and other storage companies.
• Assist with RFI, RFP, RFQ, technical proposals, architecture assessments, and solution validation processes.
• Coordinate resources from HPE engineering, product, services, security, partners, and specialists.
• Retain technical ownership of strategic opportunities until successful technical closure.
• Evaluate success through Federal opportunity growth, technical win rates, competitive victories, proof-of-concept success, workload expansion, and effective navigation of Federal requirements.
• U.S. citizenship is mandatory.
• Willingness to travel 50% or more.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in the Federal Sector in DOW.
• Extensive experience as a Storage Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, Systems Engineer, or similar customer-facing technical sales role supporting Federal Government clients.
• Proven history of selling and designing enterprise storage solutions for Federal accounts.
• Experience working with civilian and defense/national-security clients, or similarly complex Federal environments.
• Familiarity with Federal acquisition processes, buying cycles, procurement practices, and contract vehicles.
• Experience collaborating with Federal Systems Integrators and prime contractors.
• Strong working knowledge of HPE Storage solutions and related technologies.
• In-depth technical expertise across block, file, object/unstructured data, data protection, virtualization, hybrid cloud, and cyber resilience.
• Proficient understanding of at least one major competitive storage portfolio such as Dell Technologies, Pure Storage, NetApp, IBM, or equivalent.
• Capability to lead intricate technical pursuits from opportunity identification to technical closure.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is preferred.
• Preferred: experience in classified or national-security environments.
• Preferred: relevant HPE, storage, cloud, virtualization, security, or architecture certifications.
• Preferred: experience with large Federal modernization, data-center consolidation, cloud, cyber-resilience, or mission-critical infrastructure initiatives.
• Knowledge of NIST security frameworks, FIPS requirements, RMF and Authorization to Operate processes, STIG requirements, FedRAMP considerations, and CMMC/DFARS requirements where applicable.
• Understanding of Federal data sovereignty, encryption, access control, supply-chain, and information protection considerations.
• Advanced skills in technical discovery, whiteboarding, sizing, architecture design, demonstrations, proof-of-concept, and presentations.
