This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +2 more states.
• Act as the primary storage technical advisor and Solutions Architect for designated Federal accounts.
• Gain insight into customer mission priorities, technical setups, acquisition strategies, security requirements, and modernization efforts.
• Design and position HPE solutions across block, file, object, data protection, disaster recovery, cyber resilience, virtualization, containerized environments, private and hybrid cloud, AI workloads, and AIOps.
• Lead technical sales engagements from initial discovery and architecture development to sizing, validation, proof of concept, competitive positioning, proposal, and technical closure.
• Impact Federal requirements, architectures, specifications, and acquisition strategies early in the purchasing cycles.
• Build technical relationships with customer architects, engineers, program teams, acquisition stakeholders, and executives.
• Collaborate with Federal Systems Integrators, prime contractors, OEM partners, and channel partners on joint solutions and pursuit strategies.
• Convert mission, workload, security, availability, performance, scalability, and resiliency requirements into HPE storage architectures.
• Direct competitive strategy against Dell Technologies, Pure Storage, NetApp, IBM, and other rivals.
• Assist with RFI, RFP, RFQ, technical proposals, architecture reviews, and solution-validation tasks.
• Coordinate HPE engineering, product, services, security, partner, and specialist resources.
• Maintain technical ownership of strategic opportunities until technical closure is achieved.
• Propel Federal account technical strategy, customer discovery, architecture planning, sizing, configuration, demonstrations, benchmarks, proofs of concept, and opportunity progression.
• US citizenship is mandatory.
• 50%+ travel is necessary.
• A minimum of 6 years of experience working with or supporting the Federal Sector in DOW.
• Extensive experience as a Storage Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, Systems Engineer, or a similar customer-facing technical sales professional catering to Federal Government clients.
• Proven success in selling and architecting enterprise storage solutions within Federal accounts.
• Background in supporting civilian and defense/national-security customers or equivalent complex Federal environments.
• Familiarity with Federal acquisition processes, buying cycles, procurement practices, and contract vehicles.
• Experience collaborating with Federal Systems Integrators and prime contractors.
• Strong working knowledge of HPE Storage solutions and related technologies.
• In-depth technical knowledge across block, file, object/unstructured data, data protection, virtualization, hybrid cloud, and cyber resilience.
• Strong working familiarity with at least one major competitive storage portfolio such as Dell Technologies, Pure Storage, NetApp, IBM, or equivalent.
• Capability to lead intricate technical pursuits from opportunity identification to technical closure.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.
• Experience in supporting classified or national-security environments is preferred.
• Relevant HPE, storage, cloud, virtualization, security, or architecture certifications are preferred.
• Experience with large Federal modernization, data-center consolidation, cloud, cyber-resilience, or mission-critical infrastructure programs is preferred.
• Knowledge of enterprise storage architectures, HPE Storage technologies, VMware, Kubernetes/container environments, private and hybrid cloud, security/compliance requirements, Federal acquisition lifecycle, and competitive displacement strategies.
• Advanced skills in technical discovery, whiteboarding, sizing, architecture, demonstration, proof-of-concept, and presentation.
