Storage and Backup Enterprise Services Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Define and oversee customer-oriented hybrid cloud architectures for Azure-based managed services.

• Design, standardize, and enhance multi-tenant managed service platforms that cater to various enterprise clients.

• Ensure that architectures comply with contractual SLAs, SLOs, and support frameworks.

• Establish and uphold architecture, security, and operational standards across client environments.

• Maintain a hands-on role with storage and backup systems in a production setting.

• Lead troubleshooting efforts and act as the top-level escalation point for intricate client issues.

• Design resilient platforms featuring robust monitoring, alerting, backup, and disaster recovery solutions.

• Serve as a technical lead and trusted advisor for enterprise clients.

• Engage in customer architecture evaluations, technical workshops, and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs).

• Convert client business needs into secure, maintainable cloud architectures.

• Assist in presales and solution design, encompassing architecture validation, scoping, and risk evaluation.

• Guide clients in cloud adoption, modernization, and hybrid integration strategies.

• Provide architectural leadership for 24×7 managed service operations, including participation in on-call support.

• Lead major incident response initiatives, including client communication and post-incident analyses.

• Promote reliability, performance, and cost efficiency improvements across client platforms.

• Ensure operational readiness for new clients and onboarding processes.

• Mentor senior engineers and architects within the Managed Service Provider (MSP) organization.

• Influence technical strategies, tools, and service offerings within the managed services portfolio.

• Assess Azure services and technologies to enhance client outcomes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

• Over 15 years of experience in storage and backup system administration and engineering within enterprise environments.

• More than 5 years of experience designing and operating Microsoft Azure for enterprise or MSP clients.

• Extensive hands-on experience in storage and backup system administration in enterprise production settings.

• Proven track record in managing Dell storage and backup solutions.

• In-depth expertise in the administration of storage and backup systems.

• Familiarity with backup and recovery processes.

• One Dell backup/data-protection certification (e.g., Dell Avamar, Data Domain, or PowerProtect).

• One specialized Dell enterprise storage certification in either Dell PowerScale or Dell PowerMax.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of troubleshooting complex issues.

• Demonstrated leadership qualities, including project management and team mentoring capabilities.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to relay technical information to non-technical audiences.

• Ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adjust to shifting priorities and technologies.
