This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop, sustain, and enhance financial models and analytical tools that support actuarial pricing, manual rating, and reporting for stop-loss, reinsurance, and captive programs.
• Convert the data currently gathered into practical and actionable initiatives, while aiding in the development, collection, organization, and reporting of additional meaningful data for the firm.
• Assist in initiatives aimed at automating and standardizing Excel-based tools, including leveraging AI to accelerate calculations, quality checks, and data organization.
• Revise and uphold rating templates and rate calculators utilized by the underwriting team for both new and renewal business.
• Conduct quality assurance checks and validate the outputs of financial models against original source data.
• Help in monitoring cost drivers, trends, and portfolio-level metrics across stop-loss and captive programs.
• Collaborate with actuarial, underwriting, finance, and sales teams to gather requirements for tools, templates, and reports.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for financial models, tools, and associated processes.
• Provide support for ad hoc data requests and analyses for the Chief Actuary and Actuarial Directors.
• Maintain and enhance working knowledge of healthcare reinsurance, stop-loss, and captive insurance concepts.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, mathematics, statistics, economics, or a related discipline.
• 5 years of pertinent experience in financial modeling, data analysis, or a comparable role.
• Experience in healthcare reinsurance, stop-loss, and/or captive insurance is strongly preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, with a track record of building and maintaining intricate workbooks, financial models, and related analytical tools.
• Experience utilizing AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT) for data analysis, modeling, or process enhancement will be highly regarded.
• Familiarity with data manipulation and analytics tools (e.g., SQL, Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
• A committed team player, comfortable providing support to senior actuarial staff as necessary.
