📋 Description

• Produce daily news articles and in-depth features for Fierce Biotech.

• Establish a specialized beat and cultivate a robust network of contacts.

• Research public records, court documents, regulatory filings, clinical trial data, and company disclosures to uncover original stories.

• Generate and present features that captivate and expand the Fierce Biotech audience.

• Collaborate with editors and fellow reporters throughout the newsroom on significant stories and special initiatives.

• Create or assist in producing audio and video content, including podcasts and short-form videos.

• Engage on social media to promote stories, connect with sources, and enhance Fierce Biotech's audience and presence.

• Occasionally travel to cover major industry conferences and events.

• Represent Fierce in public settings, on camera, on stage, and across social media platforms.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least two years of newsroom experience is required, with a focus on the biotech or pharmaceutical sectors.

• A degree in journalism or a related, writing-intensive discipline.

• Ability to maintain a regular work schedule, starting at 8:00 a.m. ET.

• Excellent writing and reporting abilities, with familiarity in AP style.

• Proven capability to report swiftly, accurately, and with precision.

• Comfort with reading regulatory documents and other industry-related materials.

• Experience in multimedia storytelling, including podcasting, video production, or on-camera presentations.

• Proficiency in public speaking, including moderating panels or engaging in live or recorded discussions.

• Knowledge of utilizing social media as a tool for reporting and audience engagement.

• A collaborative mindset, strong news judgment, and a passion for developing expertise over time.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively with others.
