This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Establish and take ownership of the research agenda across various AfterShip product domains and systems.
• Recognize, prioritize, lead, and implement research that informs the overall product strategy of the company.
• Define, design, execute, and disseminate both qualitative and quantitative research studies.
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of merchants, shoppers, and their post-purchase experiences on a global scale.
• Collaborate with teams in Product, Design, Data Science, Engineering, and Product Marketing.
• Translate research insights into perspectives relevant to both product and business.
• Align Directors, VPs, and other cross-functional leaders on strategic inquiries.
• Mentor researchers and create repeatable research practices.
• Identify best practices within current and emerging research methodologies.
• Actively seek out new user and business opportunities.
• Report directly to the Manager of User Research.
• Over 8 years of practical UX/user research experience, including leadership in research across multiple product areas or business domains.
• Demonstrated capability to independently lead research strategy and roadmap.
• Extensive knowledge of both qualitative and quantitative research methods.
• Ability to establish research quality standards for others.
• Proven track record of influencing at the executive level and aligning leadership on strategic matters.
• Strong skills in synthesis and storytelling, supported by a portfolio or work samples.
• Experience in mentoring researchers and enhancing a team’s expertise.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Cognitive Science, Design, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Capacity to excel with complete autonomy in a remote-first, distributed organization.
• Experience in SaaS and/or e-commerce is advantageous.
• Proficiency in Mandarin is highly preferred.
