Staff Systems Engineer, Signal Processing – SAR Processor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the definition, specification, technical risk management, integration, verification, and validation of both new and existing SAR processors.

• Manage the development of interface control documents.

• Ensure seamless integration of hardware and software components into the overarching ground or space segment.

• Facilitate trade-offs between theoretical algorithms and their practical implementation on the actual processor.

• Diagnose root causes of processing errors and artifacts in image products, and develop mitigations.

• Enhance processing time to achieve near-real-time performance.

• Engage in mission design trade-off studies.

• Provide mentorship to team members.

• Offer guidance to senior management and support new business initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Mathematics, or Physics (or equivalent).

• At least 12 years of experience in an engineering environment.

• A minimum of 5 years working with complex signal processing systems (such as radar, medical imaging, computer vision, or similar).

• Over 10 years of experience in a large product development or systems engineering setting.

• Strong foundation in high-speed, high-throughput data analysis and transmission design.

• Proficient in MATLAB, Python, or C++.

• Ability to communicate effectively with technical, sales, executive, and customer audiences.

• Must be a US citizen or permanent resident.

• Preferred qualifications: experience with SAR remote sensing (system design, operation, exploitation, calibration).

• Preferred qualifications: experience in satellite SAR payload design and operations.

• Preferred qualifications: familiarity with FPGA or ASIC-based system design.

• Preferred qualifications: experience with geospatial data.
