This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of the quality operating model and spearhead its enhancement across all product lines.
• Manage and strengthen AI-agent-driven test coverage pipelines for API, UI, integration, contract, performance, and end-to-end testing.
• Execute review-and-activation workflows and ensure adherence to review SLA throughput.
• Responsible for evidence-based release gates, exit criteria, waivers, sign-off accountability, and escalation pathways.
• Establish human-testing criteria and oversee the process for phasing out manual tests as automation advances.
• Develop agent-verdict evaluation and calibration utilizing golden human verdicts and escape-rate data.
• Integrate automated testing into the software development lifecycle and CI/CD pipelines.
• Enhance behavioral validation through persona walkthroughs, exploratory charters, and judgment-based testing.
• Collaborate with Engineering Managers and Staff Engineers to boost reliability, maintainability, and developer productivity.
• Guide engineers and QA colleagues through code reviews, collaborative work, and technical design discussions.
• Define and apply engineering quality metrics, such as escape rate, calibration, catalog trends, waiver frequency, and deployment success.
• Assess emerging testing technologies, agentic engineering practices, and AI-assisted development tools.
• Shape engineering strategy and foster a culture where quality is built-in rather than inspected.
• Over 10 years of experience in Software Engineering, Quality Engineering, or SDET roles.
• Proven experience leading quality engineering initiatives across diverse engineering teams.
• Experience in designing agentic or AI-assisted quality workflows, including agent-generated test coverage, computer-use testing, or LLM evaluation and calibration.
• Demonstrated expertise in creating modern automated testing systems for enterprise SaaS applications.
• Strong software engineering capabilities with the ability to review and strengthen agent-produced Java and TypeScript code and tests.
• Experience with evidence-based release governance, including release gates, exit criteria, waivers, and sign-off accountability.
• In-depth knowledge of distributed systems, cloud-native applications, CI/CD, and highly testable software architectures.
• Proven track record of technical leadership, mentoring, and organizational influence.
• Exceptional communication skills.
• A genuine passion for enhancing developer experience, engineering enablement, and continuous improvement.
• U.S. person status: U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, asylee, or refugee.
• Authorized to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship.
• Preferred: experience in building or transforming Quality Engineering organizations in high-growth SaaS companies.
• Preferred: Principal Engineer, Staff Engineer, Quality Engineering Architect, or senior SDET experience.
• Preferred: production experience with intelligent test generation, autonomous test maintenance, or agent-driven quality workflows.
• Preferred: familiarity with Playwright, Selenium, REST Assured, JUnit/TestNG, Cypress, or similar automation technologies.
• Preferred: knowledge of developer-owned quality, shift-left testing, testing pyramids, and engineering quality metrics.
• Preferred: experience with spec-driven or artifact-first development practices.
• Preferred: proficiency in test management systems such as Xray/Jira or equivalent tools.
• Preferred: experience with Kubernetes, serverless architectures, microservices testing, and observability platforms.
