Staff Software Engineer – L4

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Co-lead the design and development of our software infrastructure, guiding the technical vision and strategy to ensure scalability, reliability, and performance.

• Spearhead the creation of advanced, stateful web applications. You will manage the integration of intricate React-based front-ends with backend modular services, guaranteeing a seamless UI experience.

• Act as a lead developer in distributed systems and data technologies, equipped with robust software engineering skills.

• Propel technical innovation and research to remain at the cutting edge of emerging data technologies and best practices.

• Mentor and uplift a team of high-performing engineers. You don’t just produce excellent code; you cultivate a culture of technical excellence, assisting senior and mid-level engineers in advancing their skills through in-depth code reviews and architectural workshops.

• Work closely with cross-functional teams to comprehend business requirements and convert them into scalable and efficient technical solutions.

• Consistently adapt to the changing JavaScript ecosystem to enhance engineering efficiency.

• Guarantee data quality, integrity, and security throughout the data lifecycle, conforming to industry best practices and compliance standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• Over 8 years of experience in data engineering, software development, or a related field, including at least 3 years in a technical leadership position.

• Experience in full-stack development for building web applications, utilizing modern programming languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, or React.

• Proven experience in architecting and delivering complex data projects at scale, with a thorough understanding of data infrastructure and distributed systems.

• Strong comprehension of data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL processes, along with experience in designing and optimizing data pipelines.

• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the capacity to influence technical decisions and promote alignment across teams.

• Strong leadership capabilities, with a history of mentoring and developing high-performing engineering teams.

• Demonstrated ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and deliver results within tight deadlines.
