• Design and develop a comprehensive multi-component infrastructure platform from start to finish.
• Oversee engineers working on various platform components and clearly articulate system-level trade-offs.
• Establish declarative infrastructure models for Kubernetes workloads and associated cloud resources.
• Implement reproducible environments, visibility of drift, and safe reconciliation processes.
• Architect a deployment control plane featuring shared inventory, dependency awareness, rollout sequencing, and approval processes.
• Incorporate reliability into designs through defined blast radius limits, progressive rollouts, observability, load and failure testing, and recovery strategies.
• Direct the capability roadmap alongside the engineering manager.
• Assess requests and balance both technical and business risks.
• Outline development processes and best practices for operations.
• Mentor senior engineers, lead design reviews, evaluate critical pull requests, and assist in the hiring of engineers.
