Senior Platform Engineer – Infrastructure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +2 more countries.

📋 Description

• Oversee cloud infrastructure utilizing Infrastructure as Code methodologies.

• Administer and scale a Ruby on Rails environment.

• Deploy monitoring solutions to enhance observability.

• Conduct code reviews for new features to ensure adherence to performance standards.

• Troubleshoot production issues at all levels of the stack.

• Strategize for growth, optimize, and automate Fleetio’s infrastructure.

• Collaborate with feature engineering teams to assist in the safe and efficient building, deploying, and operation of their features.

• Address reliability and security incidents, managing everything from triage and mitigation to post-incident analysis.

• Guarantee that applications maintain high availability, scalability, and performance.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience with AWS.

• At least 3 years of experience with Kubernetes.

• Proficient with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.

• Strong grasp of cloud networking fundamentals, including routing, firewalls, load balancers, CDNs, and VPCs.

• Familiarity with Ruby on Rails or a similar web application framework.

• Skilled in profiling and benchmarking source code.

• Capable of conducting effective code reviews and identifying potential performance issues prior to production deployment.

• Experience with Datadog or similar APM tools.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.

• Applicants must reside in the United States, Canada, or Mexico.
