Staff Software Engineer, Flink/Streaming Analytics

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Achieve a high level of expertise in Apache Flink and Cloudera products developed using this technology.

• Informally oversee technical projects, manage priorities, resources, and coordinate work for team members.

• Design, implement, test, and roll out features and enhancements for the Cloudera Streaming Analytics product suite.

• Provide support for both on-premise and cloud deployments.

• Contribute to all phases of software product delivery to ensure the software is of high quality, secure, and maintainable.

• Collaborate effectively with product management, engineering, support, UX, and documentation teams.

• Assist field teams and customers with product adoption, implementation, and troubleshooting.

• Address intricate challenges related to distributed systems for CDP control and data planes.

• Work across product, data science, and engineering teams to foster innovation and standardize best practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, along with 6+ years of experience; OR a Master’s degree with 4–6 years of experience; OR a PhD with 2–4 years of experience.

• Proficient in Apache Flink, Spark, and/or Kafka.

• Demonstrated experience in building scalable and robust distributed software systems.

• Strong skills in Java and proficiency within the Java ecosystem.

• Solid understanding of software design and architectural principles.

• Familiarity with delivery pipeline tools, CI/CD solutions, and automated testing.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

• This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship or relocation.

• Preferred: experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Preferred: experience with Kubernetes and Docker.

• Preferred: experience with Python and/or Javascript.

• Preferred: a proven track record of leading engineers through complex project deliveries.
