Staff Software Engineer – DSM Team

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, scale, and maintain backend systems that handle large volumes of data.

• Engage in event-driven and API-based integrations.

• Assist in transitioning towards a more domain-centric and scalable architecture.

• Develop and enhance software for performance-sensitive workflows.

• Analyze technical challenges and suggest solutions collaboratively with the team.

• Work alongside data science and engineering colleagues.

• Operate independently to ensure timely and high-quality deliverables.

• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, which constitutes about 20% of the role.

• Collaborate with Outcomes, Methodology & Recruitment teams, as well as product and data science teams.

• Contribute to the development of the next generation of Cint research technology products.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in backend software engineering.

• Strong technical expertise.

• Willingness or ability to adapt to programming in Java.

• Deep understanding of algorithms, data structures, Big O notation, and event-driven architecture.

• Familiarity with Spark, Apache ecosystem tools, Delta Lake, Parquet, and Kafka.

• Proficiency in Python and/or PySpark.

• Experience in building or maintaining complex, real-time, high-volume systems with high throughput and low latency.

• Knowledge of Docker, SQL, and NoSQL databases.

• Experience with REST APIs and event-driven integrations.

• Comfort in performance-oriented, production-critical environments.

• Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive, collaborative approach to work.

• Effective communication skills with engineers and data science partners.

• Preferred academic background in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field.

• Nice to have: experience with AWS, GCP, or other cloud providers.

• Nice to have: familiarity with Pandas.

• Nice to have: experience with the Spring framework and microservices.

• Nice to have: experience in large-scale data or analytics environments.
