Staff Software Engineer, Backend – FinHub

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the technical architecture for the fund movement systems of Transfers, encompassing both crypto and fiat transactions.

• Spearhead intricate, cross-team engineering projects in collaboration with the Payments, Trading, and product engineering teams.

• Implement new capabilities for fund movement and enhance platform performance.

• Advance backend infrastructure by utilizing contemporary cloud-native methodologies.

• Recognize scaling limitations and proactively design solutions.

• Set engineering standards, practices for code review, and architectural frameworks.

• Minimize operational risks within high-accuracy financial systems.

• Provide mentorship to engineers on system design, best practices for distributed systems, and production services.

• Propel improvements in reliability and scalability for systems that facilitate fund movement across Coinbase products.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in building and managing large-scale distributed systems in a production environment.

• Proven track record of guiding architectural direction and making strategic long-term technical choices.

• Extensive expertise in backend programming languages such as Go, Ruby, Python, or Java.

• Proficient in cloud-native architecture.

• Capable of designing systems that are highly available and capable of high throughput, where correctness is paramount.

• History of delivering and scaling financial systems, fund movement platforms, or other high-reliability solutions.

• Familiarity with transaction integrity, idempotency, and auditability.

• Experience in leading cross-functional technical projects and mentoring engineers.

• Skill in translating intricate distributed systems challenges into architectural solutions and actionable roadmaps.

• Responsible utilization of generative AI with appropriate human oversight.
