Senior Software Engineer, Backend

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Evaluate and offer insights on product specifications

• Develop features and functionalities using clean, maintainable coding practices

• Maintain software quality through thorough functional testing and automated unit tests

• Diagnose production issues and deliver solutions along with recommendations for enhancements

• Develop and improve investment and financial products

• Engage across the entire stack, involving UI, API development, financial institution integrations, partner integrations, and infrastructure, with a primary emphasis on backend development

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in a technology firm in a software development or related position

• Proficient in both written and spoken English, exhibiting strong communication skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or an equivalent qualification

• In-depth knowledge of software design and understanding of design patterns

• Proficient in TypeScript, JavaScript, and Node.js

• Solid foundational knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL)

• Capable of modeling and designing intuitive and scalable database schemas

• Strong debugging abilities and willing to engage in various areas

• Proven track record of successful product delivery

• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies

• Demonstrated experience in constructing backend services with high availability and scalability demands

• Comfortable collaborating with colleagues based in the U.S.
