Staff Software Engineer, Backend – Continuous Integration

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the design, scalability, and reliability of build pipelines across various services and platforms.

• Enhance build times, test coverage, reporting, and developer feedback cycles.

• Establish monitoring, alerting, and incident response procedures for CI systems.

• Collaborate with engineering teams on integrations and deployment workflows.

• Recognize developer challenges and spearhead productivity enhancements through tooling, automation, and best practices.

• Advocate for CI/CD practices throughout the organization.

• Contribute to and help shape the vision for continuous integration and developer productivity infrastructure.

• Lead and mentor CI engineers.

• Collaborate with engineering leadership to ensure CI systems align with product and platform objectives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in driving and leading engineering initiatives in CI, build systems, or developer productivity areas.

• Strong expertise in modern build systems such as GitHub, Buildkite, and Artifactory.

• Knowledge of AWS, Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code methodologies.

• Programming skills in Python, Kotlin, Java, or similar languages.

• Capability to guide technical decision-making processes.

• Proficiency in managing build systems and frameworks for large monorepos.

• Relevant practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline.

• Interest in AI tools and emerging technologies, with a willingness to learn and apply them.

• Experience with open source contributions or large-scale software development at a prominent tech company is advantageous.
