Backend Engineer – AI Integrations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Lead engineering efforts on AI products by delivering production-ready generative AI functionalities.

• Design the technology stack and produce clean, maintainable code.

• Integrate Large Language Model (LLM) APIs effectively.

• Take ownership of features from conceptualization to reliable, client-ready products.

• Create and deploy customer-facing AI solutions tailored for client projects.

• Develop agent orchestration, tool usage, interfaces, and backend systems.

• Enhance internal AI tools and delivery methodologies.

• Contribute to team growth by interviewing potential candidates.

• Provide mentorship to fellow engineers.

• Collaborate with colleagues to transform ideas into reliable products.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on leading projects or teams.

• Proficiency in backend development using TypeScript or Python.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms like Azure, GCP, or AWS.

• Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL or MongoDB.

• Practical experience in building applications using modern LLM APIs like OpenAI or Anthropic.

• Knowledge of agentic products and prompt engineering techniques.

• Understanding of retrieval layers such as RAG, embeddings, or vector search.

• Experience in writing and assessing Claude Skills.

• Capability to select the appropriate LLM for various tasks while weighing quality, cost, and other considerations.

• Experience in creating and integrating with MCP servers and transforming API endpoints into tools.

• Quick learner of new programming languages and frameworks.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Ability to provide accurate estimates for timelines and project scope.

• Experience utilizing AI for coding tasks, such as with Claude Code or Codex.

• Advanced to fluent proficiency in English required.

• An updated CV in English is necessary for application.
