Staff Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with product owners and application developers to design, code, and maintain high-quality cloud-based applications within a Scrum team environment.

• Partner with software teams to ensure architecture aligns with user requirements.

• Occasionally offer technical support for escalated production issues.

• Keep abreast of industry trends and assess new software technologies for platform development.

• Provide technical guidance to an Agile team when necessary.

• Spearhead performance optimization initiatives, focusing on memory management, parallelization, and algorithm efficiency.

⛳️ Requirements

• Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years with a Master's degree; or a PhD with 3 years of experience; or equivalent experience.

• Strong expertise in one or more low-level programming languages, such as C++ or Rust.

• Comprehensive understanding of language internals, performance optimization, and memory management.

• Experience with SaaS multitenant database architectures utilizing RDBMS and NoSQL databases like Elasticsearch, Cassandra, and MongoDB.

• Profound understanding of SOA, web security architecture, REST APIs, event-driven architecture, and various architectural patterns.

• Familiarity with client-side MVC frameworks such as AngularJS and KnockoutJS is a plus.

• Proficient in source control management systems like Git and SVN, along with CM practices.

• Extensive experience in writing high-quality unit tests against mock objects.

• Solid understanding of object-oriented analysis and design.

• Proven track record of collaborating in a fast-paced team environment and delivering high-quality software products using established Agile development methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban within formal schedules.

• Demonstrated troubleshooting abilities.

• Experience in debugging complex issues using low-level debugging and profiling tools such as GDB, LLDB, perf, Valgrind, or equivalent.

• Quick learner.

• Customer-centric, team-oriented, and driven, taking ownership of assigned tasks.

• Ability to self-manage and foster interdisciplinary relationships.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
