Staff Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Lead a small team of engineers, offering technical mentorship, conducting code reviews, and providing architectural guidance to ensure the delivery of high-quality products.

• Work in close collaboration with Product Managers and Designers to define roadmap priorities and convert customer requirements into scalable solutions.

• Design and develop complex features across the technology stack using React, TypeScript, Python (Django), Node.js, and PostgreSQL.

• Promote engineering best practices, which include thorough testing, maintaining code quality, and enhancing tooling to boost team productivity.

• Oversee the technical delivery process from design through to deployment, taking into account performance, reliability, and monitoring aspects.

• Advocate for engineering excellence by actively identifying opportunities for improvement within the codebase, development workflows, and team processes.

• Act as a thought partner to engineering leadership in scaling systems, simplifying complexity, and mentoring team members.

• Foster a deep understanding of customer needs to ensure that products are intuitive, impactful, and trustworthy.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 10 years of professional software engineering experience, with significant expertise in full stack development.

• Demonstrated experience in leading engineering teams or pods, including mentorship, task planning, and making technical decisions.

• Strong frontend development skills with modern JavaScript/TypeScript and React.

• Extensive backend experience using Python (Django) and Node.js with TypeScript, particularly in building and scaling APIs and services.

• Familiarity with Kubernetes (K8s) and containerized deployment strategies.

• Experience with relational databases, specifically PostgreSQL.

• Acquainted with event-driven architectures and tools such as Kafka.

• A profound understanding of software design principles, testing methodologies, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Proven ability to make pragmatic technical decisions that balance speed, quality, and maintainability.

• Capability to collaborate effectively with Product and Design counterparts.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to advocate for technical solutions among stakeholders.
