Staff Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Serbia.

📋 Description

• Design and build highly configurable, extensible, and pluggable applications using React Native.

• Collaborate with Product Management and UX/UI Design to develop clean, accessible, and intuitive mobile experiences.

• Work alongside server-side engineering teams to design and integrate RESTful APIs.

• Influence architectural decisions in partnership with Enterprise Architects and engineering leads.

• Offer guidance on development, provide reusable code examples, create technical documentation, and devise unit-test strategies.

• Lead and engage in design reviews, code reviews, hands-on coding, troubleshooting, implementation support, and production assistance.

• Enhance application performance through testing, analysis, and actionable recommendations for improvement.

• Create and sustain native integrations across both iOS and Android platforms.

• Utilize AI-assisted engineering tools to boost developer productivity while upholding quality, security, and engineering standards.

• Mentor fellow engineers, advocate for reusable patterns, and convert complex technical challenges into straightforward, practical solutions.

• Assist in mobile CI/CD, release management, and the publishing process across Apple and Google ecosystems.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

• 7-10 years of software engineering experience with substantial expertise in React Native and a proven track record of delivering production mobile applications.

• Strong knowledge in React, TypeScript, JavaScript, and native mobile development with Swift/Objective-C for iOS and Kotlin/Java for Android.

• Extensive experience in mobile architecture, component design, authentication flows, RESTful services, and secure application development.

• Proficient in developing automated unit and end-to-end tests using Playwright or similar testing frameworks.

• Familiarity with React Native component libraries such as NativeBase and Tamagui.

• Practical experience with GitHub, GitHub Actions, mobile CI/CD pipelines, and best practices in source control.

• Experience with publishing and delivery tools such as Apple App Store Connect, TestFlight, Google Play Console, Firebase Console, App Tester, Azure, and Bitrise.

• Working knowledge of AI-assisted development tools, especially Claude and Cursor.

• Experience in Agile software development environments.

• Superior written and verbal communication skills.

• Independent, self-motivated, and capable of breaking down complex problems to provide clear solutions and code examples.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the necessity for current or future employer sponsorship.
