This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.
• Design, develop, and expand core products across backend, frontend, and cloud-native applications.
• Architect and create scalable, secure, and resilient backend systems utilizing Java, Kotlin, or other JVM-based languages.
• Lead the design and execution of essential components within cloud-native services, including Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, GCP, and Azure.
• Collaborate with product management and cross-functional teams to convert business requirements into technical solutions.
• Advocate for DevSecOps practices by embedding security into CI/CD pipelines and automating build and deployment processes.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to engineering teams through technical challenges, architectural direction, and code reviews.
• Implement best practices in testing, observability, reliability, and performance enhancement.
• Assess and incorporate open-source tools and libraries, contributing to the community when applicable.
• Drive enhancements in platform scalability, data processing pipelines, and distributed system architecture.
• Engage in and lead incident response, root cause analysis, and long-term reliability engineering initiatives.
• Over 12 years of professional experience in software engineering.
• Demonstrated experience in designing and developing scalable, production-grade full stack applications.
• Strong expertise in Java and/or Kotlin on the backend.
• Experience in building RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Proficiency in React, Vue, or similar JavaScript/TypeScript libraries.
• Understanding of cloud-native architecture with experience in deploying applications to AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of secure software development practices and integrating security into full stack applications.
• Competence in automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and modern DevOps workflows.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across engineering, product, and design teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field—or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in an agile environment and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• A passion for mentoring and coaching engineers.
• Successful completion of employment verification and background checks.
• Verification of job titles and employment dates with two previous employers.
