Staff Software Engineer, AI Enablement

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Define the approach Root takes to discover, adopt, and scale AI-native methodologies across various teams.

• Lead strategic embedded initiatives that connect company objectives, user workflows, and reusable AI platform capabilities.

• Transform field patterns into strategic platform direction, architecture, and technical investments.

• Create scalable engagement and adoption frameworks that facilitate faster learning and minimize repetitive efforts.

• Coordinate with engineering and business leaders on opportunities, trade-offs, outcomes, and responsible practices.

• Remove obstacles for multi-team initiatives and establish metrics to assess the impact of AI adoption.

• Nurture engineers and technical leaders through mentorship, systems thinking, and user-focused technical leadership.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience as a software engineer.

• At least 3 years of experience leading software teams or significant technical projects.

• Capability to set technical direction and achieve results across multiple teams or a substantial functional domain.

• Profound knowledge of AI tools, technologies, and application patterns, including their responsible and scalable use.

• Strong product management, systems-thinking, and problem-framing abilities in ambiguous, cross-functional settings.

• Experience in transforming user needs and experiments into reusable products, platforms, or operating models.

• Proficiency in aligning senior stakeholders, facilitating cross-team decisions, and clearly communicating complex AI concepts.

• Proven track record in identifying strategic technical investments, unblocking large initiatives, and developing engineers beyond their immediate teams.

• Exceptional collaboration and influence skills with both technical and non-technical leaders.

• Must be on camera for virtual interviews.
