Staff Software Development Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and implement scalable and efficient architectures for Java microservices.

• Lead the creation of cost-effective application and program solutions.

• Convert business requirements into technical specifications.

• Craft new applications and enhancements, including the integration of purchased solutions.

• Conduct system maintenance, research, problem resolution, and provide on-call support.

• Oversee or perform unit testing and assist with functional integration, system, and User Acceptance Testing.

• Facilitate the implementation of systems into production.

• Manage code assets and encourage asset reuse throughout the organization.

• Lead or serve as a subject matter expert for projects and service requests that affect applications.

• Collaborate with development, architecture, operations, business, and functional teams.

• Mentor Java developers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of overall experience in application program development.

• At least 5 years of practical experience in Java development.

• More than 5 years of experience with integration concepts and practices.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience with Java Spring Boot and microservices.

• Over 5 years of experience in developing Java RESTful services.

• More than 5 years of experience working with business and functional requirements for applications that support a sub-domain or domain and their relevant interfaces.

• At least 2 years of experience in supporting and guiding others to develop API services using onshore and offshore teams.

• Solid understanding of service/API interface structures.

• Experience or knowledge in MongoDB and GCP platforms.

• Familiarity with BPM, Extreme Scale – WXS, Mqueue, SPLUNK, Cloud Containerization, and DevOps.

• Experience with programming languages, development tools, databases, and the systems development life cycle.

• Experience with application development support software packages.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (high school diploma plus 4 years of relevant experience).

• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

• Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multiple teams.
