Staff Security Engineer – Data Security

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

⛳️ Requirements

• BS/BTech (or higher) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.

• Over 8 years of experience in software or security engineering within Cloud Native environments.

• Familiarity with modern cloud data platforms, including Postgres, Snowflake, Databricks, and AWS S3.

• Knowledge of data architectures, including data warehouses, data lakes, and lakehouses.

• Extensive experience with data discovery, classification, and Data Security Posture Management (DSPM).

• Proficiency in Python or a similar programming language and regex patterns for automation and tooling integration.

• Fundamental understanding of protecting PII/PHI and compliance with healthcare regulatory requirements such as HIPAA.

• Experience in architecting, developing, and deploying large-scale distributed systems.

• Familiarity with cloud technologies including AWS, Azure, and GCP.

• Experience in building CI/CD pipelines.

• Knowledge of server-side web technologies such as Java, Python, Scala, C#, C++, and Go.

• At least 4 years of experience as a trusted technical decision-maker in a team environment.

• Experience with health-tech systems, including Electronic Health Records and clinical data.

• Hands-on experience with DSPM platforms like Wiz DSPM, BigID, Cyera, and Bedrock Data.

• Experience embedding security controls within data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows.

• Familiarity with data retention, lifecycle management, and legal hold procedures.

• Familiarity and experience with tokenization, encryption, or cryptography tools and processes.

• Previous experience in healthcare, health tech, or another highly regulated, compliance-intensive environment.

• Capability to meet physical demands, including prolonged sitting, extensive computer and keyboard use, and occasional walking and lifting.
