Staff Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and oversee security services that support Aledade’s operations.

• Utilize data and automation extensively.

• Collaborate across functions to define the strategy and execution of security services.

• Direct the creation, implementation, and upkeep of comprehensive security strategies and solutions.

• Create and implement advanced security measures to protect networks, systems, and applications.

• Mentor and inspire new engineers.

• Establish and maintain security process standards to ensure high-quality engineering.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree or its foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related area.

• A minimum of eight (8) years of experience in software or security engineering in Cloud Native environments.

• Proven experience leading the architectural design for hybrid-cloud ingress and egress inspection pipelines.

• Expertise in ensuring non-routable private connectivity and reducing public IP exposure.

• Skilled in deploying, configuring, and optimizing Deep Packet Inspection (DPI), SSL/TLS inspection at scale, and threat detection and prevention using Zscaler and AWS native tools.

• Experienced in establishing threat defense through Web Application Firewalls (WAF) utilizing Cloudflare and AWS WAF.

• Proficient in integrating Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB) capabilities and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) engines across Zscaler and Cloudflare.

• Knowledgeable in automating cloud network infrastructure and enforcing security policies using Terraform, Pulumi, or AWS CloudFormation.

• Experienced in managing network configuration drift detection and automated remediation workflows via CI/CD pipelines.

• Skilled in operationalizing network observability by orchestrating flow log ingestion into SIEM platforms such as CrowdStrike, Sumo Logic, and Wiz.
