Principal AI Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Ensure the security of internal AI solutions, agents, copilots, model platforms, and cutting-edge AI capabilities.

• Design, create, test, and implement controls for AI applications, agents, copilots, and shared AI platforms.

• Develop reusable services, APIs, libraries, policy checks, automation, and integrations with platforms.

• Establish controls for identity, authorization, secrets, data access, tool usage, egress, rate-limiting, logging, and human approval.

• Conduct AI threat modeling and technical security assessments while driving remediation efforts.

• Create adversarial tests and automated checks for prompt injection, unsafe tool execution, misuse, and control circumvention.

• Incorporate AI security telemetry, detection mechanisms, alerts, and response processes.

• Provide leadership through engineering expertise, reusable patterns, mentorship, and enterprise influence.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in security engineering, application security, product security, cloud security, software engineering, platform engineering, or a related discipline.

• Proven experience in implementing authentication, authorization, secrets management, API security, logging, monitoring, and secure development practices.

• Demonstrated experience in applying technical controls specific to the evolving AI risk landscape.

• Familiarity with Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud, along with Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD practices.

• Capability to perform threat modeling and translate findings into actionable engineering solutions.

• Development skills in Python, Java, C#, Go, or JavaScript/TypeScript.

• Preferred experience in developing or securing generative AI applications, agents, copilots, or machine learning platforms.

• Preferred experience with AI gateways, model routing, RAG, vector databases, orchestration, MCP, or model-serving platforms.

• Preferred experience in AI red teaming, adversarial testing, prompt injection defenses, or automated control validation.

• Relevant certifications in security, cloud, application security, or AI engineering are preferred.
