This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Hawaii.
• Execute field and office tasks related to the planning, implementation, coordination, monitoring, and support of environmental initiatives, with a primary emphasis on Munitions Response.
• Prepare or contribute to Quality Assurance Project Plans, sampling strategies, Accident Prevention Plans, Site Safety and Health Plans, and various other project plans.
• Aid in the planning, management, and execution of project outreach efforts.
• Develop materials and presentations for community and public outreach.
• Assist with assessments, investigations, remedial or removal actions, site restoration, and the ongoing management and maintenance of environmental sites.
• Support sampling and assessment activities for munitions constituents.
• Manage sample coordination and documentation with laboratories.
• Review and organize environmental data effectively.
• Maintain and support project databases.
• Prepare or assist in the creation of technical reports, tables, and figures.
• Coordinate project data with GIS personnel.
• Travel to project locations as necessary.
• A Bachelor’s degree in geology, environmental science, biology, engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited institution is required.
• A minimum of three years of experience in environmental consulting is required.
• Experience with MR/unexploded ordnance (UXO) projects is preferred.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Ability to engage professionally with managers, colleagues, field operations personnel, technical staff, and subcontractors.
• Capability to assist in the development of project work plans and health and safety plans.
• Self-driven and able to operate effectively within a team environment.
• Strong critical thinking skills.
• A valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record, confirmed by a Motor Vehicle Record check.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Access, as well as Adobe.
• OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification with a current 8-Hour Annual Refresher is preferred.
• OSHA 30-hour training in General Industry or Construction Industry safety is preferred.
• Construction Quality Management for Contractors (CQM-C) certification is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.
• Ability to safely operate manual tools and power equipment commonly used in construction trades.
• Ability to safely manage hazardous materials and withstand exposure to various hazards.
