Staff Scheduling Associate

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Provide customer service and support to caregivers on nursing units at Cleveland Clinic Hospitals.

• Assess and communicate adjustments in staffing and scheduling, including nurse-to-patient ratios.

• Collaborate with management of designated facilities/units to evaluate staffing levels and requirements.

• Generate and analyze 24-hour staffing forecasts.

• Reach out via phone calls and/or texts to secure coverage for shifts and exceptional situations.

• Execute the Lack of Work process in accordance with Standard Operating Procedure when necessary.

• Identify and address complex staffing challenges impacting patient care.

• Utilize various computer systems to liaise with nursing leadership across multiple hospitals.

• Work with nurse leadership to assess current and future staffing requirements.

• Partner with nursing institute timekeeping to guarantee accurate coding of caregiver hours.

• Oversee the scheduling of PRN and agency caregivers.

• Record changes to caregiver schedules using Kronos.

• Act as a point of contact for unit call-offs.

• Document, report, and maintain records of call-offs in line with SOP.

• Prepare both ad hoc and scheduled reports for Chief Nursing Officers, Nursing Directors, and Nurse Managers.

• Attend and successfully complete mandatory training.


⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED with 2 years of customer service experience.

• An Associate's Degree may substitute for up to 1 year of the stated experience.

• A Bachelor's Degree may substitute for up to 2 years of the stated experience.

• Proficiency in MS Office, Excel, and database software is required.

• One year of staffing/scheduling experience is preferred.

• Manual dexterity for frequent data entry and the ability to sit for extended periods is necessary.

• Capability to use a telephone without TTY.

• Clear and articulate speech is essential.

• Must adhere to the influenza prevention program, including receiving an annual influenza vaccination or an approved exemption.

• Offers are contingent upon testing for controlled substances.
