Staff Relations Manager, Japanese Speaking

📋 Description

• Conduct and/or oversee comprehensive, timely, and impartial HR investigations within the JAPAC region, focusing on Japan.

• Uphold confidentiality and sensitivity while executing objective investigative processes.

• Develop investigation strategies, summaries, and maintain detailed professional investigation records.

• Clearly communicate investigation outcomes to HR colleagues, legal partners, and business leaders.

• Foster and sustain relationships with key stakeholders at Amgen Japan.

• Provide guidance to managers regarding performance management, disciplinary actions, conflicts, and other employee relations matters.

• Collaborate with local Human Resources Business Partners on employee relations concerns.

• Engage in or provide counsel during corrective counseling and termination discussions.

• Address staff issues and advise management on best practices for the workplace.

• Accurately document cases and concerns in tracking systems and keep site and Staff Relations leadership informed.

• Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement in internal HR processes.

• Collaborate with HR, Compliance, and Learning & Development teams to design and deliver training related to HR policies and the reporting of suspected violations.

• Report directly to the Regional Staff Relations Lead.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree or higher.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in Investigations/Employee Relations.

• Familiarity with relevant employment laws, regulations, and HR-related business practices.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, along with strong presentation abilities.

• Capacity to learn and impartially apply company policies, investigative procedures, and regulatory standards.

• Ability to recognize and escalate potential HR, Compliance, and Legal matters.

• Experience in union interactions or labor relations.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, collaboration, and project management capabilities.

• Proficiency in managing multiple cases and projects while prioritizing effectively.

• Capacity to exercise sound judgment and work autonomously.

• Experience in handling challenging conversations and conducting non-confrontational interviews.

• Background in working across diverse countries and cultures.

• Unwavering integrity and the ability to maintain confidentiality.

• Fluency in both Japanese and English, encompassing written, verbal, reading, and comprehension skills.
