This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Deliver expert guidance and support in employee relations to managers and staff across various Amgen functions.
• Collaborate with regional HR Leaders, Business Managers, Compliance, Legal, HR Centers of Excellence, and team members.
• Investigate potential HR policy violations and provide advice on coaching, performance management, behavior management, discipline, involuntary terminations, and workplace accommodations.
• Offer practical and legally sound employee relations guidance regarding performance management, disciplinary actions, and workplace conflicts.
• Engage in termination discussions and corrective actions with staff and leaders.
• Conduct and document thorough, impartial, and timely HR investigations while upholding confidentiality and objectivity.
• Establish findings of fact and policy violations, and prepare investigation summaries along with supporting documentation.
• Analyze and respond to requests for reasonable accommodations, leaves of absence, and return-to-work issues.
• Work alongside local HR Business Partners and the broader Staff Relations team to ensure adherence to compliant ER practices.
• Monitor and update cases in the company’s case management system.
• Assist the Staff Relations Lead with process enhancements, training, and best practices in employee relations.
• Collaborate with Compliance, Legal, and Learning & Development teams to provide training on HR policies, investigations, and professional workplace behaviors.
• Doctorate degree OR Master’s degree with 2 years of Staff Relations experience OR Bachelor’s degree with 4 years of Staff Relations experience OR Associate’s degree with 8 years of Staff Relations experience OR High School diploma/GED with 10 years of Staff Relations experience.
• Strong background in Human Resources with over 4 years of experience in Employee Relations.
• Experience in advising on performance management, disciplinary actions, and involuntary terminations of employment.
• Knowledge of employment laws and employee relations practices.
• Experience in conducting internal HR investigations.
• Ability to learn and effectively apply company policies, investigation procedures, and regulatory guidelines relevant to the job duties.
• Excellent judgment, discretion, and professionalism in managing complex and confidential issues.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, Teams, Workday, and ER case management systems.
• Flexible working hours to accommodate the needs of manufacturing shifts.
• Must reside in the United States.
