This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil, +3 more countries.
• Oversee CRS strategy, engagement, relationship management, and resource mobilization initiatives with multilateral development banks and development finance institutions.
• Drive the identification, design, structuring, and advancement of development finance opportunities.
• Act as the technical lead on MDB financing structures and partnership models, which include sovereign and non-sovereign loans, co-financing, climate finance, and blended finance.
• Create and disseminate guidance, tools, lessons learned, and technical methodologies.
• Partner with regional, country, and global teams to ensure alignment of opportunities with CRS priorities and program strategies.
• Provide technical leadership in the development of proposals, project design, and partnership formation.
• Represent CRS at forums related to MDB, development finance, and climate finance with donors and government stakeholders.
• Enhance organizational readiness and staff capabilities to access and manage complex financing opportunities.
• Document partnership models, financing structures, lessons learned, and market trends.
• Monitor developments, opportunities, risks, and strategic considerations related to climate finance and multilateral lending.
• Maintain a matrix of strategic priorities and plans for the World Bank, IDB, CABEI, and CAF.
• Focus on implementation across Central America, especially in El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua.
• No supervisory responsibilities.
• Master’s degree in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field.
• A decade of professional experience with increasing responsibilities in international finance, development finance, or related areas.
• Five years of international experience in various regions as a technical advisor and/or program manager for MDB programs and/or multi-sectoral projects with development finance partnerships.
• Proven experience working within Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs) to design loan packages and programs.
• Demonstrated ability in managing complex stakeholders and designing sovereign or development finance mechanisms.
• In-depth knowledge of finance structures and mechanisms utilized in development programming, particularly in climate finance.
• Strong skills in relationship management, strategic analysis, problem-solving, and systems thinking.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including experience with research publications.
• Skilled in presentation, facilitation, training, mentoring, and coaching.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is required.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 35% of the time.
• Must have the legal right to work in the location where the position is based.
• The successful candidate must sign and comply with CRS’ Code of Conduct.
• Preferred: experience in working within multicultural teams and familiarity with LACRO.
• Preferred: background in agriculture, water, youth employment, climate adaptation, land restoration, water governance, and resilience.
