This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Slovenia.
• Develop and implement backend functionalities in Python for large-scale enterprise SaaS platforms.
• Enhance technical quality through testing, continuous integration/deployment, and secure design practices.
• Offer technical direction and architectural insights on backend projects.
• Create data models and pipelines to manage high-volume sensor data streams and time-series events.
• Manage late-arriving data, retention periods, and downstream reclassification processes.
• Oversee a synchronization and reconciliation engine for distributed edge clients and cloud environments.
• Execute incremental updates, retroactive resynchronization, and atomic merging of simultaneous edits.
• Develop integrations with customer enterprise systems while ensuring consistency amid partial failures and ambiguous record matching.
• Architect solutions for concurrency, interval-based data handling, transactional guarantees, and consistency across asynchronous workers, polling clients, and manual edits.
• Construct configurable, formula-driven systems with secure customer-specific extension points.
• Create fast and reliable APIs tailored for latency-sensitive operational user interfaces.
• Collaborate with teams specializing in cloud, infrastructure, and data science.
• Oversee and enhance data pipelines that supply the analytics platform.
• Over 10 years of professional experience in software development.
• Proficiency in Python and Django is essential.
• Experience with large, intricate backend SaaS applications is required.
• Strong capabilities in modeling complex data systems and delivering scalable solutions.
• Practical experience in supporting production code and iterating based on customer feedback.
• Contractors must possess or acquire the legal right to operate as independent contractors in their respective jurisdictions.
• Contractors are responsible for maintaining any necessary registrations, licenses, or business entities as mandated by applicable law.
• Contractors must hold relevant professional indemnity, public liability, or other insurance as required by their jurisdiction.

• Familiarity with Celery, RabbitMQ, TimescaleDB/Athena, and a background in manufacturing or industrial technology is advantageous.
