Staff Product Manager – Moderation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Identify the most impactful opportunities for Reddit to enhance community enforcement and moderator workflows, transforming these into a well-defined product strategy and roadmap.

• Spearhead the development of LLM-powered moderation experiences from inception to implementation.

• Cultivate a deep understanding of moderators, community members, and the dynamics of healthy communities, and convert these insights into product experiences.

• Establish success metrics and criteria for model/product evaluation that link user value, community health, and Reddit's overarching strategy.

• Assess the quality of AI/ML, focusing on precision, recall, error costs, coverage, latency, failure modes, human review, and feedback loops.

• Analyze ecosystem tradeoffs concerning community health, moderator trust, user trust, safety, and product quality.

• Collaborate with Engineering, Data Science/ML, Design, Safety, Consumer teams, and senior leaders to ensure effective execution.

• Articulate strategy, decisions, tradeoffs, and learnings to executive stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience at the staff level in product management, overseeing significant consumer surfaces or systems with demonstrable user impact.

• Outstanding product intuition encompassing user insight, problem framing, prioritization, UX judgment, and overall product sensibility.

• History of leading ambiguous zero-to-one projects or significant product evolution from strategy formulation to launch and subsequent learning.

• Experience in developing AI/ML-powered products, with a solid understanding of model evaluation and product/model tradeoffs.

• Strong analytical capabilities, including defining metrics, interpreting data, and making necessary directional changes.

• Excellent cross-functional leadership skills in collaboration with Engineering, Data Science/ML, Design, Safety, and partner teams in complex and ambiguous environments.

• Familiarity with community, social, creator, UGC, trust/safety, or moderation products.

• Background in ML-intensive consumer surfaces or policy-sensitive AI experiences.

• Experience in transitioning mature systems to a new product paradigm within complex, matrixed organizations.
