
Staff Product Manager – Legal & Insurance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Establish the long-term vision, strategy, roadmap, and success metrics for Datavant’s Legal & Insurance vertical.
• Convert a complex and fragmented market into a cohesive product strategy that encompasses requester experience, retrieval workflows, fulfillment, integrations, and record analysis.
• Design product architecture, which includes workflows, data models, platform capabilities, partner integrations, and AI-enhanced experiences.
• Collaborate with executive leadership to identify opportunities, set priorities, make investment decisions, and ensure organizational alignment.
• Create scalable products for attorneys, copy services, insurers, and other requesters across both enterprise and small/mid-sized customer segments.
• Work together with engineering, data science, analytics, operations, design, and commercial teams from strategy formulation through to execution.
• Transform operational friction into product capabilities and develop custom workflows into scalable platform patterns.
• Create AI-driven tools for extracting, summarizing, structuring, and acting upon insights from medical records.
• Set metrics, feedback loops, and operational rhythms to enhance retrieval speed, completeness, transparency, quality, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
• Act as a product thought leader and mentor to fellow product managers.
• 8–12+ years of experience in product management, specifically leading complex, enterprise-grade, data-centric products.
• Proven ability to define product strategy in ambiguous environments and influence company-wide direction.
• Experience in developing products that integrate workflow, data, operations, user experience, and integrations into scalable systems.
• Strong systems thinking skills with the capability to transform disorganized workflows into robust product architecture.
• Familiarity with healthcare data, data exchange, retrieval, workflow automation, platform products, or regulated data products.
• Background in legal, insurance, medical record retrieval, claims, risk adjustment, clinical data, or AI-enabled document analysis is a plus.
• Comfort in designing products within highly regulated, high-stakes environments.
• Strong technical fluency and credibility when engaging with engineering, data science, and analytics teams.
• Ability to utilize data, customer insights, and business judgment for prioritization and investment decisions.
• Excellent executive-level communication skills.
• Capacity to create clarity, mentor others, and drive execution.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a comfort for ambiguity.
• Collaborative leadership style with a low-ego approach.
