Staff Product Manager, Content-to-Discovery Infrastructure

📋 Description

• Develop and implement a comprehensive multi-year strategy for the entire content-to-discovery process, which includes acquisition, processing, indexing, and retrieval/serving.

• Manage the roadmap for the infrastructure that supports content, scraping, and catalog onboarding.

• Oversee extraction, processing, metadata enrichment, and maintain freshness throughout the lifecycle.

• Supervise indexing functions across Shopping and Search platforms.

• Direct retrieval and serving processes, focusing on latency, performance metrics, and inventory management.

• Establish standards for freshness and reliability; utilize data to prioritize investments and illustrate impact.

• Collaborate with teams across content, shopping, search, and infrastructure.

• Serve as the representative for the platform.

• Provide mentorship to peer product managers; note that this role does not include people management responsibilities.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 10 years in product management or technical leadership roles.

• Proven experience in building and launching content, catalog, or commerce-supply platforms and infrastructure on a large scale.

• Hands-on experience with content/catalog acquisition and onboarding, data enrichment and freshness pipelines, search or shopping indexing, or low-latency retrieval/serving systems.

• Demonstrated success in enhancing data quality, freshness, or relevance metrics across extensive, multi-stage pipelines.

• Strong technical acumen in ingestion, indexing, and serving architecture.

• Experience in leading large, cross-functional projects that involve multiple teams and systems.

• Analytical and strategic thinker; confident in making high-stakes decisions and defining metrics that demonstrate impact.

• Outstanding communication and influence skills at all organizational levels.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
