This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada, +1 more country.
• Take ownership of the implementation of Thunderbolt product features, guiding them from concept to launch, adoption, and subsequent iterations.
• Convert product vision, user requirements, partner insights, and enterprise specifications into technical plans and deliverable product experiences.
• Collaborate across the technology stack to develop, integrate, test, and deploy comprehensive product features.
• Create AI-driven functionalities such as chat, search, research, workflow automation, administration, integrations, and enterprise workflow capabilities.
• Partner effectively with product, design, engineering, enterprise-facing teams, and contributors from the open-source community.
• Work alongside senior technical leadership to transform technical strategies into actionable product tasks.
• Utilize AI-assisted development tools while ensuring quality, security, maintainability, and reliability are upheld.
• Make informed technical and product decisions in situations where ambiguity exists.
• Analyze usage, feedback, support signals, quality concerns, and adoption trends following the product launch.
• Instrument product features or collaborate on measurement strategies to assess adoption, reliability, and product value.
• Identify gaps in the product, technical risks, edge cases, and enhancements for user experience.
• Write clear, maintainable, and thoroughly tested code across front-end, back-end, APIs, integrations, and areas adjacent to infrastructure.
• Develop reusable patterns for product and engineering.
• Foster a product engineering culture focused on ownership, quality, experimentation, user value, and practical execution.
• A minimum of 10 years of professional software engineering experience, including substantial experience in building and deploying production applications with Staff-level scope, leadership, and impact.
• Strong full-stack engineering capabilities across user interfaces, APIs, services, integrations, data flows, and areas adjacent to infrastructure.
• Proven experience in owning complex product features throughout the entire lifecycle, from technical planning to implementation, launch, evaluation, and iteration.
• Experience in developing AI-enabled products or functionalities, with practical knowledge of LLMs, RAG, agents, model/provider abstraction, data connectors, retrieval systems, or AI application architecture.
• Hands-on experience in evaluating and utilizing various AI tools, models, frameworks, or development harnesses, with the ability to articulate trade-offs, limitations, and preferred tooling choices.
• Familiarity with open-source enterprise products, developer tools, infrastructure products, platform products, or technically intricate enterprise software.
• Strong product acumen with the ability to translate product direction, user feedback, partner insights, customer requirements, and product signals into actionable technical plans and iterations.
• Comfort in operating independently within a fast-evolving product landscape.
• In-depth understanding of software quality, testing, maintainability, security, performance, reliability, and implementation trade-offs.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills across engineering, product, design, open-source, and both customer- and partner-facing stakeholders.
• Awareness of enterprise software needs, including privacy, security, administration, access control, compliance, deployment flexibility, supportability, and responsible AI considerations.
