Staff Product Designer, Shop

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Oversee the complete design process for the Fanatics App Shop experience, encompassing discovery, browsing, merchandising, personalized suggestions, product details, cart/checkout transitions, cross-selling, and post-purchase interactions.

• Propel complex, multi-phase design initiatives towards achieving business objectives by defining product vision and managing stakeholder relationships as well as team capacity.

• Take ownership of the Shop pod's segment of the FanApp design system, which includes product cards, merchandising modules, and recommendation interfaces.

• Create prototypes within the product code/app environment, utilizing AI tools to assess and confirm behavior based on actual data and backend limitations.

• Establish standards for design evaluation and validation for critiques, redlines, and engineering transitions.

• Provide mentorship to designers involved in the Shop pod.

• Collaborate closely with the Shop pod's Product Manager and Engineering Manager.

• Work with FanApp design personnel and leadership to ensure consistent patterns across Home, Scores, Loyalty, and other sections of the app.

• Collaborate with pod leadership on planning and roadmap development, influencing priorities through user insights, design principles, and business impact.

• Enhance conversion rates, repeat purchases, and the journey from discovery to cart/checkout while preserving the overall fan experience.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in Product Design, with a background operating at a Staff level and overseeing design across a team.

• Proven experience in e-commerce, shopping, or merchandising design.

• Strong systems thinking skills with experience in creating patterns and components utilized by other teams.

• Proficiency in prototyping within the product's code/app environment, beyond just Figma.

• Familiarity with AI tools while adhering to rigorous standards.

• A history of mentoring designers and establishing design/craft standards.

• Adaptability to a mobile-first, fast-paced consumer environment characterized by ambiguity and changing priorities.

• Capability to design comprehensive systems while maintaining visual and interaction quality.

• Knowledge of data and backend constraints to develop feasible, resilient, and predictable interactions.
