This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.
• Take ownership of the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for regional payments in Brazil, Mexico, and the surrounding areas.
• Enhance checkout processes and conversion paths while improving authorization, approval, and payment success rates.
• Broaden the range of local payment methods and options for installments or affordability.
• Lead the complete product lifecycle from initial discovery and PRDs through to launch, scaling, and ongoing iteration.
• Establish product requirements for payment processor and method integrations.
• Oversee regulatory and compliance workstreams in collaboration with Legal, Tax, Compliance, and Finance teams.
• Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to conversion, costs, reliability, and revenue.
• Keep track of regulatory updates, competitor activities, and new payment technologies, incorporating insights into the roadmap.
• Collaborate across various functions including Engineering, Design, Analytics, Data Science, Finance, Compliance/Legal, Partnerships, and Country teams.
• Over 10 years of experience in product management.
• Proven success in building and scaling payment or financial products, with a focus on strategy, roadmap, and execution.
• In-depth knowledge of the payments stack within a marketplace setting, covering pay-ins, pay-outs, and fund flows.
• Proven skills in minimizing purchase friction and enhancing conversion rates through the funnel.
• Familiarity with authorization, settlement, processors/gateways, acquirers, card scheme regulations, 3DS/SCA, tokenization/vaulting, and reconciliation processes.
• Experience with local payment options and affordability solutions, including wallets, bank transfers, and BNPL/installments.
• Understanding of the LATAM payments landscape, including Pix, SPEI, regional wallets, and the culture of installments.
• Knowledge of local regulatory frameworks such as those from the Central Bank of Brazil and SAT Mexico.
• Proficiency in defining KPIs, conducting experiments, and utilizing analytics for informed decision-making.
• Technical knowledge to collaborate with engineering teams and convey complex ideas clearly.
• Strong product vision and user empathy.
• Proficiency in English is required; knowledge of Portuguese and/or Spanish is highly preferred.
