This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee multi-quarter initiatives encompassing cloud accounts, CI/CD, identity, and artifact management.
• Establish the technical direction for a significant portion of the platform through design documentation and decision logs.
• Foster consensus among Engineering and Security teams.
• Define service levels, alerting mechanisms, and on-call frameworks for the supported platform services.
• Coordinate risky adjustments across interconnected systems and effectively implement reliability enhancements in production.
• Prioritize team objectives and advocate for them using cost and risk assessments.
• Mentor Senior engineers through design reviews and guidance.
• Stay actively engaged with the most critical technical modifications.
• Take ownership of cross-system technical challenges and convert ambiguous objectives into multi-quarter strategies.
• Draft essential design documents and execute complex platform modifications.
• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in software engineering, cloud or infrastructure engineering, systems or network administration, site reliability, DevOps, or platform engineering.
• Extensive hands-on experience in designing and managing production cloud infrastructure, containers, and CI/CD (AWS, Kubernetes, or similar), utilizing infrastructure as code.
• Proven experience in leading a technical project that spans multiple systems or teams, from inception to completion.
• Background in designing for reliability and security, including access models, deployment safety, observability, and incident response.
• Expertise in designing Kubernetes platforms, multi-account AWS organizations, IAM, and cross-account networking.
• Proficient in securing CI/CD processes, including federated identity, short-lived credentials, secrets management, and software supply-chain controls.
• Familiarity with setting service level objectives and creating alerting strategies using tools like New Relic, PagerDuty, or similar.
• Experience in build-versus-buy analysis and vendor assessments, particularly with AI-assisted tools for operational tasks in regulated environments such as healthcare (HIPAA, SOC 2).
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Ability to influence across teams and engage with leadership without formal authority.
• Comfort with ambiguity, transforming it into actionable plans with milestones and measurable trade-offs.
