Staff Loads & Dynamics Analysis Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct load development for vehicle and engine programs.

• Spearhead load spectrum creation for service life evaluations.

• Execute vehicle dynamics assessments.

• Confirm and validate analytical models.

• Collaborate closely with the testing team to request necessary instrumentation for anchoring analytical models.

• Assist in the development of GFEM for vehicles and propulsion systems.

• Transfer loads to vehicle and engine components.

• Work with engineering teams to create systems, ensure adherence to requirements, and comply with structural standards.

• Partner with manufacturing to evaluate nonconforming hardware and suggest recommended actions and repairs.

• Enhance analytical methodologies and explore new approaches and tools.

• Provide professional development, mentorship, and technical support to colleagues.

• Report directly to the Propulsion Analysis Team Lead.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, aerospace engineering, or a related field.

• Over 8 years of experience in loads and dynamics analysis.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup atmosphere.

• Proficient in dynamic analysis techniques, including structural dynamics, dynamic loads, acoustics, modal analysis, random vibration, and shock response.

• Experience in developing loads for vehicle and/or engine applications.

• Background in anchoring analytical models with physical testing.

• Preferred: Master's degree or higher in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or a related field, ideally with a focus on solid mechanics, fatigue, fracture, or structural dynamics.

• Preferred: Experience in flutter analysis.

• Preferred: Familiarity with GFEM development and model grounding.

• Preferred: Knowledge of turbomachinery-related analytical methods, including Campbell diagrams.

• Preferred: Experience in High Cycle Fatigue and Low Cycle Fatigue analysis.

• Preferred: Finite Element Analysis expertise using commercial software such as ANSYS, Abaqus, or NASTRAN-based solvers.

• Preferred: Experience with Femap/Nastran and the ANSYS FEA suite.

• Preferred: Background in fracture analysis and NASGRO.

• Preferred: Strong theoretical foundation in heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and/or compressible flow.

• Preferred: Experience with safety-critical systems in production settings.

• Preferred: Professional background in rocketry or turbomachinery.

• Preferred: Skills in failure investigations and root-cause analysis.

• Preferred: Effective oral and written communication to support recommendations.

• Preferred: Competence in thermal-structural static analysis, fluid analysis, and knowledge of composite materials, insulation, and ablative thermal protection systems.

• Must be a U.S. Person, including U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents.

• Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance.
