Staff Fullstack Developer – Simulation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Establish the architectural roadmap for GM’s Simulation Scenario Definition platform and/or its programmatic TypeScript/Python SDK.

• Oversee the design and execution of graphical editing tools utilized by numerous engineers to define intricate traffic, environment, and sensor scenarios.

• Propel the advancement of Python infrastructure, encompassing scenario serialization, validation, and integration with GM’s extensive cloud computing cluster.

• Guide engineers and set standards for engineering excellence in API design, code quality, and testing methodologies.

• Facilitate the safe validation of complex AI-driven autonomous driving systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in software development, with a substantial focus on large-scale platforms, tools, or SDK development.

• Demonstrated capability to lead technical architecture and manage complex projects that span multiple quarters from conception to production.

• Strong experience in front-end engineering for advanced graphical applications using TypeScript.

• Familiarity with contemporary frameworks like React or Vue and graphical/mapping libraries such as WebGL/Three.js or MapboxGL.

• Expert-level proficiency in Python, including best practices, performance enhancement, and the development of robust APIs/SDKs for external users.

• Proven history of mentoring and coaching mid-level and senior engineers.

• A solid understanding of 3D graphics, computational geometry, and/or real-time simulation concepts.

• Direct experience in developing or extending a Domain-Specific Language (DSL) or high-level scripting language.

• Background in game engines such as Unity or Unreal or other professional simulation software.

• Experience with data visualization techniques for large, intricate datasets.

• Knowledge of Autonomous Vehicle technology or complex robotics/safety-critical systems.

• Must not require GM immigration sponsorship now or in the future.
